The McCain campaign has really "jumped the shark" with this new campaign ad. I'm not sure how effective it will be, but my gut tells me that it will backfire on them.

It's currently linked to at the top of the Drudge report and who knows if they are going to even pay to run it anywhere.

I hope they do. It's such a load of crap.  Guess when you're losing you'll try anything.

Kath25's diary on the rec list, People Power Will Donate $2,300 Instead, Markos (Updated), argues that Markos is setting a bad example by not donating cash to Obama. Markos' failure to donate out of some misguided principal is particularly disappointing because by my reckoning, WE, the users of dailykos.com, have made Markos Moulitsas a millionaire. Anyone can log onto the site that administers his blog advertising and see the rates that advertisers are paying. Then do some math and you'll see what I mean.

The AP is reporting that Obama may decide to move his acceptance speech outside, from the convention hall to Denver's new Invesco field.

I think this is an amazing idea and my imagination stirs when I consider the excitement and the media images that would result from such a move. Plus, JFK gave his speech outdoors at the LA Memorial Coliseum in 1960. The parallels are obvious.

Can you imagine over 75,000 super-enthusiastic supporters cheering him on? McCain couldn't even fill such a stadium and Obama will probably have them lined up outside, filling the stadium to overflowing!

Heeding the advice of influential blogger Markos Moulitsas, Republican presidential nominee John McCain worked on improving his image by undergoing an emergency teeth-whitening session at the office of his Phoenix, Arizona dentist.  The results can be seen here:

The California Supreme Court has rendered its just decision allowing gay marriage in the state. This historic decision will undoubtedly bring out the fanatical hoards of religious wingnuts protesting homosexuality based upon the Bible. I've frequently considered writing one, but I've always been intimidated by the high levels of political knowledge, professionalism and the superb writing skills exhibited by so many other writers to be found here.

But, I'm SO EXCITED about what I am privileged to be able to experience tomorrow night that I wanted to share my enthusiasm.

I'm going to meet and shake hands with Senator Barack Obama!
